About

I could sit here and tell you I’ve always had the passion for photography (and my mother will testify I’ve wasted countless amount of film through my life) but that’s not the truth. The truth is I started taking pictures to share my life with our family. Living a military lifestyle we move a lot and far away from those we love.
When we found out we were expalnding our family from 2 to more, our families cried because they wouldn’t be able to watch the growing belly (or bottom!) and see those first few precious moments as our lives changed. So point and shoot in hand I documented every single moment and shared them through email and photo sharing sites.
Once our lil’ ones came along we wanted better pictures to decorate our walls and went to a chain store. I had the worst experience! I hated the pressure of posing, the time restraint, the lighting, the fact that the photographer didn’t care what we looked like. I didn’t order a single picture because I HATED them! I remember telling my hubs, “I could do so much better”. He told me to try. So I tried, and guess what? I DID!
Sure, it didn’t come out perfect the first time, but through classes, seminars, shooting events, practice and a ton of continous reading, I was able to capture what the chain store was missing… feeling, emotion, connection… LOVE! I love my family. I want people to see the love we have, I want to share our love with our families.
This is what brought me into the realm of photography. Showing and sharing the love! Nothing breaks my heart more than families who are seperated from their loved ones. Nothing replaces the contact of being there but pictures help build a bridge! Bringing people together with the common thread of sharing the love, it doesn’t get much better than that!
As much as capturing the moment thrills me I enjoy other aspects of my work more. I can’t wait to share those tender loving moments with my clients! Watching their faces, smiles ear to ear and knowing inside their hearts are exploding is just the best! I enjoy recieving comments from family members sharing that I captured their adult child with the same look that person had as a child. Or that that look reminds them why they fell in love with their spouse. How sweet is that?! I love that my pictures envoke others to share their love story with me, wether it’s mother and child, husband and wife, or friends. We all have a story to share and I can’t wait to share yours with you!
I love my job!
Also, don’t just think I’m a photographer because I’m not! I have my fingers in everything crafty! I love playing with mixed media art. I love sewing! I love cooking! I love creating beautiful things. I am truly inspired by everything around me and can find the beauty in life. Because of this I count myself pretty lucky!
If you would like to learn more about me drop me a line or give me a call. I really enjoy meeting and talking to new people and look forward to talking to you!
Love, Yvonne
